The skeleton oil seal structure consists of three parts: oil seal, strengthening skeleton and self-tension screw spring.The sealing body is divided into different parts: bottom, waist, edge and sealing lip.Usually, in the free state of the skeleton oil seal, its inner diameter is smaller than the axial diameter, that is, has a certain "surplus".
Therefore, when the oil seal is installed into the oil seal seat and shaft, the pressure of the oil sealing edge and the contraction force of the self-tension spiral spring produce a certain radial tightening force on the shaft. After a period of operation, the pressure will quickly decrease and even disappear. Therefore, plus the spring can compensate the oil seal self-tension force at any time.
Seal principle: due to the oil film controlled by the oil seal blade mouth between the oil seal and the shaft, the oil film has fluid lubrication characteristics.Under the action of the liquid surface tension, the stiffness of the oil film just makes the oil film and the contact end of the air form a crescent surface, preventing the leakage of the working medium, thus realizing the sealing of the rotation shaft.The sealing capacity of the oil seal depends on the thickness of the oil film on the sealing surface, excessive thickness and leakage; the thickness is too small, dry friction may cause oil seal and shaft wear; and no oil film between the sealing lip, heat and wear.
